Definately because playing against people who are trying to beat you is more fun than creaming NPCs who have been designed to be beaten ...

Think you have all the pros and cons of pvp there.
It was intended for players to have fun competing against each other. Sadly the designers failed to realise that in any human vs human competition there will always be problems. You need strict rules enforced in real time by other humans and if you cannot do that get into some other business. Yeah the playing against people part is great but I really wish there could be a way around the waiting times. Played a pile of online games and always ended up playing with a couple of friends against the AI. Ok pve is easy but you can always handicap yourself and in some games tweak the Ai for a harder fight. Far too much time is taken up with getting ready for the pvp games then there is the attitude of players the wasted games where people drop out and just general frustration with pvp. After a load of wasted evenings listening to moaning players accusations of cheating etc you just start to think is it really worth it. I recon if GW had a normal mode a hard mode and an elite almost impossible unless you have godlike gaming abilities mode I would never even consider pvp |

Since there is no "professional" GW league with prize money, etc., the only "point" to playing any aspect of GW is to have fun. Even if there was a chest, the point would be to have fun opening the chest.
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women. Some people's idea of "fun" is different than others of course. |

Tense PvP boosts your adrenaline.
Of course, angry messages from pwned players will make my day. |

Meh, people play it to have fun just as you would play anything in a game. Sure you can get rewards from it, titles and Zkeys. But some people (like myself) just genuinely don't like PvP. I'm not a competitive person, and PvP in this game seems more intense than most other games I've run into. Lately, I just like to get on now and then, play new content when it's released, and collect armor/weapons. So, meh, it's all about what you enjoy doing in a game.
